In addition to all of the freelance work I’ve been doing lately, I’ve been doing a few crafty things as well. I went on a yarn binge the last time I went to Hobby Lobby, and now have one crochet hat and one knitted hat in progress. I didn’t buy enough yarn for the crochet hat, so that is a thorn in my site. It looks really beautiful, but I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to get it finished! The knitted hat is going to take a while, since I am rusty at knitting and I’m using small needles (size 6). The knitted hat is for a friend of mine who is having a baby next month, so I’d better get seriously busy!
I’ve also been working on making my bizarre stuffed cats with the weird eyes and funky clothes. I have a pile on cat parts in my craft room that still need to be assembled and then dressed. I’ve also been reading some tutorials on how to make your own return address labels that sound interesting. A friend of mine does it, and hers turn out very well. They look a bit like old-fashioned woodcuts. It sounds like something that would be a good moneymaker at the Farmer’s Market or on Etsy. Can you tell I am really unfocused right now?
